Narc-Kenya to exit Azimio

Narc-Kenya party has issued a notice to exit from the Azimio la Umoja One Kenya coalition.

The decision was communicated Thursday in a letter addressed to the coalition secretary-general Junet Mohammed by Narc Kenya’s acting secretary general Asha Bashir.

The party said the decision was informed by the prevailing political developments.

“Kindly take note that our stay in Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition is not tenable due to the prevailing political developments. As NARC Kenya by way of this letter, we are giving notice to exit the Coalition as stipulated in the exit clause (s) in the Coalition Agreement” the letter reads.

Bashir added that the notice is effective from the date of the letter.

On her part, Narc-Kenya party leader Martha Karua in a tweet on X said that her party’s stay in Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Alliance is no longer tenable.

The coalition has been rocked by divisions after Raila Odinga who is the Azimio leader fronted his key allies to join President Ruto’s broad-based government.

Ruto on Wednesday unveiled 10 more faces of his Cabinet nominees and named ODM chair and nominated MP John Mbadi to the National Treasury docket.

ODM deputy party leaders Wycliffe Oparanya and Hassan Joho were handed Cooperatives and MSME Development and Mining and Blue Economy ministries respectively while Minority leader in the National Assembly Opiyo Wandayi was given the Energy and Petroleum docket.
