The National Museums of Kenya – Nairobi will host the 17th edition of the Affordable Art Show this weekend, inviting art lovers to explore vibrant art collections from artists across the East African region at little to no cost.

The Affordable Arts Show, held bi-annually in May and October, brings together artists from Kenya and neighbouring countries.

This three-day event attracts diverse audiences, including art lovers, collectors, students, and enthusiasts.

Visitors can expect over 750 artworks on display, accompanied by live music, live painting sessions, and interactive art classes and activities for both adults and children.

Entry for the first day on Friday will cost Kshs. 500 with free access for the remaining two days.

Now in its 17th edition, the event promises an engaging weekend filled with creative experiences for everyone including art lovers on a budget.

The event is organised by the Kenya Museum Society (KMS), a not-for-profit organisation established in 1970 to support and promote the National Museums of Kenya.

The Affordable Art Show serves as the society’s main fundraiser and a percentage of the proceeds from artwork sales supports various projects at the National Museums of Kenya.
