Lands CS Alice Wahome issues over 1,000 Title Deeds in Narok County

The Cabinet Secretary for Lands, Public Works, Housing, and Urban Development, Alice Wahome on Friday presided over the issuance of 1,348 title deeds in Mosiro Location, Narok East Sub-County.

The title deeds were distributed to residents of the Oloosokon Adjudication Section, marking a major milestone in land ownership and security for the local community. The event, which underscores the government’s commitment to resolving historical land issues and enhancing land ownership rights, was attended by key government officials.

In her address, CS Wahome emphasized the importance of land ownership in promoting individual and community prosperity.

“Land is not just an economic asset; it is a source of identity, security, and stability for our people. Today’s issuance of title deeds is a testament to our government’s unwavering commitment to ensuring that every Kenyan has access to land ownership, which is fundamental to the socio-economic development of our nation,” she said.

Wahome was accompanied by the Principal Secretary for Lands and Physical Planning, Hon. Generali Nixon Korir, who highlighted the government’s dedication to land reforms aimed at fostering economic development and social stability. Korir said titling is part of a broader national initiative to expedite the issuance of title deeds across the country.

“I thank the Narok Governor for pushing for this noble initiative which aims at providing residents with security and opportunities that come with legal land ownership,” said PS Korir.

The Narok Governor, Hon. Patrick Ole Ntutu, also attended the occasion, expressing his appreciation for the national government’s efforts in supporting the county’s development through land titling.

The residents of Mosiro Location welcomed the move with enthusiasm, expressing hope that the titles would open doors to new opportunities, including access to credit facilities and improved livelihoods.

The Ministry of Lands, Public Works, Housing, and Urban Development remains dedicated to addressing land issues nationwide and ensuring that every Kenyan’s right to land ownership is respected and protected.
