Mobius Motors shuts down operations in Kenya

Kenya’s automaker, Mobius Motors has announced plans to shut down its operations in the country.

The firm through a notice has since appointed KVSK Satstry as the liquidator.

“At a meeting of the shareholders held on 5, August 2024, it was resolved to place the company under liquidation as per Section 393(1) (b) of the Insolvency Act and to appoint KVSK Sastry as the lquidator to wind-up the company,” said Nicholas Guibert, Director Mobius Motors Kenya.

The firm is now set to hold a meeeting with its creditors mid this month at its Nairobi headquaters in a bid to see through the shareholders resolution.

“List of the names of creditors and proxy forms will be made available, free of charge, for inspection on 9, August 2024 at the company’s offices,” he added.

The firm which set up operation in Kenya in 2011 has been making Sports Utility Vehicles which it said was tailor-made for the African market capable of handling rough terrain.

The irsst vehicle in its assembly line was the Mobius II launched in 2015.

Its next generation SUVs include the Mobius II lauched in 2019 and Mobius 3 launched in 2021.
