PrideInn Plaza has announced its ambitious plan to plant 60,000 trees by 2030, a significant step towards tackling climate change.
The announcement is in line with this year’s World Environment Day focused on supporting land restoration, combatting desertification, and enhancing drought resilience.
To mark this day, PrideInn Plaza teamed up with the Machakos County Government to plant 1,600 trees at Kwamboo Primary School in Machakos.
In a statement PrideInn Plaza which has a longstanding dedication to environmental sustainability says, this initiative is part of the larger commitment to environmental conservation and climate action.
“Over the years, the hotel has actively worked to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, manage water resources responsibly, minimize waste, and conserve vital ecosystems.” Read the statement.
These efforts align with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals, which emphasize the urgent need to combat climate change.
In addition to their 2030 goal, PrideInn Plaza has set a near-term objective to plant 10,000 trees by end of 2024. This accelerated effort underscores their proactive approach to environmental stewardship.
According to PrideInnPlaza: “The planet needs us now more than ever to take decisive action to rectify the environmental damage caused by human activities. Issues such as oil spills, air pollution, plastic waste, and toxic chemicals contaminating our water bodies require immediate and sustained efforts to restore balance to our ecosystem.”
