Global hit ‘The Boys’ is set to premiere on Prime Video for its fourth season on Thursday.

The series based on the comic book by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson, developed by Eric Kripke, takes place in a world where superheroes, or “Supes,” are commercialised and corrupt.

It follows a group of vigilantes known as “The Boys,” who set out to expose and combat these powerful beings.

At the end of Season 3, Homelander had just murdered a protester in front of a crowd of people, styled to evoke the white supremacy movement in America, who cheer and hail him as a hero.

Throughout the season, the audience had a front-row seat to Homelander’s descent into madness, the rise of the new Supe Soldier Boy, and the ongoing battle between Vought International and the boys.

What to expect in Season 4

A world where Homelander rules
With Homelander (Antony Starr) tightening his grip on Vought and becoming increasingly unhinged, the stakes are higher than ever. His power and influence continue to grow, posing a greater threat to the world.

A virus that kills supes
Led by Billy Butcher (Karl Urban), the boys are more determined than ever to take down Vought. However, they face new challenges and internal conflicts that could test their unity and resolve.

New Characters/wrathful gods
The new season introduces several characters, some of whom will be recognisable to fans of the Gen V series. These characters are expected to bring new dynamics and complexities to the story.

Bulletproof chickens, flying sheep
The mysterious origins of Compound V and the true extent of Vought’s sinister operations remain key plot points.

Political and social commentary
The first photos from the fourth season show that it will remain true to its roots by continuing to offer biting commentary on contemporary issues. Expect sharp critiques of corporate power, celebrity culture, and political manipulation.

‘The Boys’ Season 4 is available to stream in Kenya on Prime Video.
