American rapper popularly known as Fabulous is set to perform, tonight, Thursday, August 10 at the newly opened Skating arcade, Sk8city Nairobi.

The rapper landed on Thursday morning at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport and was received by the event’s organisers in a Maybach.

Fabulous announced that he was coming to Nairobi last week sharing, “I just want to let you know that I’m coming to Nairobi, Kenya, on August 10 and I will be performing live at Sk8city. So meet there and it is going to be big. It is my first time in Kenya, so see all my people come out and celebrate, turn up with me, see you all out there.”

Popular Disc jockeys G Money, John Rabar, Fully Focus, Dj Syd are expected to perform alongside Fabolous.

Tickets to the event go for Kshs 5,000 (regular) 10,000 (VIP) and 20,000 (VVIP). For a VIP table of 6, its Kshs 50,000 and the VVIP equivalent is Kshs 90,000.

Born John David Jackson, Fabolous, first gained recognition while still a senior in high school, when he performed live on American music executive DJ Clue’s radio show, then on Hot 97. Jackson subsequently signed to DJ Clue’s Desert Storm imprint, and later secured a distribution deal with major label, Elektra. 

He later gained prominence with his first release, “Ghetto Fabolous” (2001), which spawned the hit singles “Can’t Deny It” (featuring Nate Dogg) and “Young’n (Holla Back)”. His second release was 2003’s Street Dreams, which was supported by two US top 10 singles, “Can’t Let You Go” (featuring Lil’ Mo) and “Into You” (featuring Tamia or Ashanti).
