Machogu vows to address teacher shortage in North Eastern

Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu has pledged to deploy more teachers in North Eastern to address the long-standing shortage in the region.

The CS said the Ministry will increase funding to ensure students from the region have access to a quality education.

Machogu spoke during at the Mandera Teacher’s Training College (MTTC) during the unveiling of the Mandera County Education Task Force Report.

The Task Force Report is designed to identify existing gaps in the education sector while leveraging available opportunities to enhance performance in the region.

The CS presented Ksh30 million from the government coffers to facilitate the construction of additional dormitories and critical facilities at the institution.

He emphasized the shared responsibility of both teachers and students in achieving excellent educational outcomes.

Machogu also flagged off a school feeding program that is set to benefit over 500 primary schools in Mandera county.

Mandera County Governor, Mohamed Khalif called upon all education stakeholders to intensify their investments in the sector.
