Kenya at the G7 Trade Ministers Summit

The Kenyan government has struck economic bilateral agreements with European Union among other G7 member countries in Osaka, Japan.

The agreement with the EU will deliver duty free and quota free access for Kenyan exports to the 27 country, $18 trillion market.

Trade cabinet secretary Rebecca Miano who was the only African trade minister invited to attend the G7 Trade Ministers’ Summit observed that, ” final authorization processes for the proposed trade agreeement are on its final stages”.

CS Miano also held a bi-lateral meeting with Valdis Dombrovskis, the Executive Vice President of the European Commission.

The EU and Kenya remain committed to strengthening trade, particularly sustainable and fairer trade.

Other bilateral talks by Kenya involved the WTO, Japan, Canada, India and France.
