President William Ruto has led the Kenya Defence Forces in remembering the tragic loss of its gallant soldiers in April this year following a chopper crash.
The chopper crash left nine officers dead including the then Chief of Defence Forces the late General Francis Ogolla.
Other military personnel who passed on along General Ogolla were: Brigadier Swale Saidi, Colonel Duncan Keittany, Lieutenant Colonel David Sawe, Major George Benson Magondu, Captain Sora Mohamed, Captain Hillary Litali, Senior Sergeant John Kinyua Mureithi, Sergeant Cliphonce Omondi, and Sergeant Rose Nyawira.
The Head of State who led high ranking military officials and the new recruits in a moment of silence to honour the fallen soldiers said their deaths left a void in the hearts of the Defence Forces Community, Government and citizens.
“Today we are assembled with mixed emotions to this grand pass out parade. We continue to mourn the recent tragic loss of our departed gallant soldiers including the late General Francis Ogolla. His legacy will continue to inspire many,” President Ruto said.
