Kiambu county to continue receiving rainfall next week

Rainfall is expected to continue over several areas of Kiambu County for the next one week, County Director of Meteorological Services Magdalene Gateri has said.

Giving the weekly weather forecast running from today Tuesday, May 28, to Monday 3rd June,2024 Gateri indicated that the rains will mostly fall over the low ground areas and in low intensities.

“Cumulatively this whole week, low-ground areas are expected to continue receiving rainfall from 10mm to more than 20mm,” she said.

She added that areas such as Thika, Ruiru, Juja are likely to receive rainfall from 10mm to more than 20mm.

Additionally, she advised the residents of Kiambu County to take maximum care during the rains to avoid the negative impacts associated with rainfall such as road accidents.

Kiambu, Githunguri, and areas of Gatundu North and South are likely to receive rainfall amounts of 20mm to more than 50mm.

Areas such as Kikuyu, Kiambaa are likely to receive rainfall amounts of 50mm to more than 70mm with mornings likely to be cloudy breaking into sunny intervals.

Occasional afternoon showers are also expected over a few places and nights are likely to be partly cloudy with areas such as Kabete and Limuru expected to receive rainfall amounts of 50mm to more than 100mm.

Lari is expected to receive rainfall amounts of 20mm to more than 100mm.
