Njuri Ncheke Meru Council of elders have asked the President William Ruto and his deputy Rigathi Gachagua to bury the differences between them for the benefit of the Nation.

Addressing the media in their national shrine at Ncheru in Tigania, Meru County the elders led by their national secretary general programs Josphat Murangiri said the government is in the process of making critical changes as the president has promised GenZs, hence the need for the president and his deputy to find solutions to their differences and speak as one.

The elders praised GenZs for putting the nation resolution forward and for defending the rights of Kenyans but asked them (GenZs) to give the president time to implement their wishes.

On the issue of some government leaders neglecting their duties, especially the cabinet secretaries, the Njuri Ncheke elders called upon the president not to target one particular community when he will be making changes in his cabinet, adding that those criticizing CS for Interior Prof. Kithure Kindiki and the Inspector General of Police Japhet Koome over the way police handled protectors should desist from doing so as majority of police officers conducted themselves professional.

Meanwhile, the elders asked CS for Interior Kithure Kindiki to ensure police patrols are intensified along the border of Meru and Isiolo counties to prevent attacks following an incident that happened last week in Igembe North sub-county in Meru County.

The incident left five people among them a police officer dead and others with gun shot wounds.
