The suspect has confessed to killing 42 women including his wife

Police have arrested a middle-aged man believed to be behind the murder of multiple women and dumping their bodies in Kware dumpsite in Mukuru kwa Njenga, in Embakasi South Constituency.

The 33-year-old suspect, Collins Jomaisi Khalisia, from Vihiga County, was arrested in Nairobi’s Kayole area and crucial exhibits were recovered from his house, which is just 100m from the crime scene.

According to the Director of Criminals Investigations (DCI) Mohamed Amin, preliminary investigations show that all the nine female bodies recovered at Kware dumpsite were severely dismembered.

Addressing a presser Monday morning, the DCI boss said the suspected serial killer confessed to killing 42 women in the last two years with the recent heinous act having been committed last Thursday.

“The suspect was arrested at Soweto in Kayole Sub-County at around 3am in a joint operation by the DCI Crime Research and Intelligence Bureau and Operations directorates, outside a club where he had gone to watch the Euro 2024 football finals”

His pursuit and subsequent arrest followed forensic analysis of a mobile phone belonging to one of the victims, Josphine Mulongo Owino, where mobile money transactions conducted on the day she went missing pointed to the suspect.

“Upon his arrest, the suspect led officers to his single-room rented house in Kware, which is located about 100m from the crime scene where the bodies and body parts have been recovered” explained the DCI boss.

His first victim was his wife whom he strangled to death in 2022. The dumping site and the suspects’ house have been declared active crime scenes.

“The suspect confessed to having lured, killed and disposed of 42 females from 2022 with the latest as recent as last Thursday, July 11. The suspect alleged his first victim was his wife whom he strangled to death before dismembering her body. From our interrogation, all his victims have been murdered in the same style. Our investigations are still ongoing” Amin said.

The detectives have recovered several items from the house including mobile phones, a handbag and female inner garments that will be used as evidence.

“ A quick search was conducted in the house, which led to the recovery of the following crucial exhibits; 24 Airtel Sim cardholders with new sim cards,  8 smartphones, two feature phones, One Laptop and one hard drive, Two flash drives and one phone memory card, One Machete, 12 Nylon Sacks, One pair of industrial rubber gloves, 6 ID cards for men and 2 ID cards for women, ne pink female handbag, two pink female panties and four huge clear tapes ” he disclosed.

Police are now calling on families with missing relatives to report to the DCI or the nearest police station.

“We call upon the families who reasonably believe that their loved ones may have fallen prey to these macabre murders, to these reprehensible acts of what I can only call a vampire to report to our DCI headquarters or the nearest police station for that matter. As DCI we reiterate our commitment to expedite investigations to deliver quick justice” the DCI said.

The bodies are in various stages of decomposition.
