Kenyan press officer and Former Miss Universe contestant Rachel Mbuki challenged a few celebrities to do the “Anguka Nayo” challenge while doing vox pops at NBC’s Universal summer press tour.

Posting a video of herself doing the challenge on the carpet, Ms Mbuki later challenged celebrities like country star Reba McEntire and Shameless star Shanola Hampton to do the same.

Although some of them didn’t quite get the pronunciation right, they still managed to offer their support to Kenyans.

“We love you Kenya! We love you so much Kenya! Keep doing what you’re doing,” Hollywood star Khayun Kim, who stars in the NBC show ‘St. Denis Medical’, said as she attempted the dance moves associated with the song.

The post shared by Ms Mbuki comes ahead of today’s scheduled protests which began on June 18.

“Some of Hollywood’s biggest stars wanted to let Kenyans know that they have you in their thoughts and they are also on the #angukanayo train with our brave Gen Z.

“Continue the good fight, just know you are loved from all over the world and everyone is rooting for you,” said Ms Mbuki in a post.

Released on July 3, the Arbantone song, which currently has 1.9M streams on YouTube, has unofficially been adopted as the protest anthem.

“Anguka Nayo” directly translates to “Fall with it” in English – the “it”, according to protesters, being bad governance.

Other celebrities who shared their love with Kenyans include Zachary Quinto, Nyambi Nyambi, Melissa Peterman, Belissa Escobedo, Wendi Mclendoncovey, Reid Scott, Mehcad Brooks, Kelli Williams, Mark Paul Gosselaar, Laroyce Hawkins, Jessys Chram, David Eigenberg, Kahyun Kim Kaliko Kauahi, Maah Rahill, Jessi Martin, Travina Springer, Tamberla Perry, Wendie Malick John Larroquette and Christie Burke.
