Human resource management certification results released

Professionals in the Human Resource Management,have embarked on a journey to embrace certification program. In order to enhance capabilities, and also contribute towards uplifting of the HR profession in Kenya as a whole.

According to CHRP Dalmas Odero, the National chairman IHRM council ,noted that it was crucial to recognize the role that certification plays in shaping the future of the Human Resource department as certification is not just a personal achievement, but also a commitment to excellence and a pledge to uphold the highest standard in the HR practice.

In a bid to ensure they keep up with the current competency based curriculum (CBC), Human Resource Management Professional Examinations Board ( HRMPEB) have incorporated Competency Based Education and Training(CBET) that offers diploma and craft certificate in human resource management.

Individuals seeking entry levels in the HR skills, for the diploma are required to have an overall grade of C- and for the craft certificate is D. Currently 54 institutions have been accredited by HRMPEB.

During this year’s results release of the 15th cohort, 1427 candidates had been examined under the old and revised CHRP Curriculum.

This was an increase compared to 1366 candidates who sat for the exams during November 2023.

The Chairperson HRMPEB , CS Sharon Kisire urged industry partners and stakeholders, to keep sending feedback that might support and strengthen the expansion and advancement of HR best practices and standards not just in Kenya, but across the globe. She also encouraged learning institutions to embrace competence based curriculum as it promotes inclusivity.

CHRP Quresha Abdullahi ,IHRM Executive Director, made a clarion call to Human resource practitioners who were certified before the year 2012 , to embrace refresher training. As they can enrol in learning institutions or may study as an individual and sit for exams. Currently only 19,500 members have been registered. She also assured Human Resource officers of government’s support through States department involvement in ensuring everything is done in the right way.
