On World Tequila Day, Yunion Restaurant at GTC Nairobi transformed into a celebration joint, featuring well-crafted cocktails, a stylish dress code, and a festive atmosphere. The event, centred on the premium Don Julio tequila, showcased the versatility and rich flavours of the brand.

The on-the-go table-side cocktails, crafted by talented mixologists Charles Wachira and Eunice Wangari, was an interesting experience. The drink of choice for many, including myself, was the Don Julio Reposado, a tequila that stands out for its smooth, refined taste.

The duo mixed the Reposado into refreshing Don Paloma and Mango Margarita cocktails, with the Mango Margarita being a clear favourite among guests.

A highlight of the evening was the special attention given to a reveller named Wanjeri, who was celebrating her birthday.

She received a custom cocktail, aptly named the Wanjeri Don Freeze, adding a personal touch to the event. Others indulged in the luxurious Don Julio 1942.

The monochrome dress code added an extra layer of style to the event. Guests embraced the theme, donning stylish outfits that enhanced the overall ambience of the evening.

Heer Dodhia, CEO of Yunion Restaurant & Bar, emphasized the essence of the event.

“Celebrating World Tequila Day is a significant opportunity for Yunion Restaurant & Bar to showcase our premium offerings and offer memorable experiences.

“For our guests, it means an opportunity to enjoy the finest tequila and expertly crafted cocktails in a festive atmosphere.”

The week-long celebration began by honouring select tequila connoisseurs and industry influencers with exclusive product gift packs.

World Tequila Day at Yunion Restaurant was more than just a celebration. It was a one-of-a-kind experience that brought together tequila enthusiasts, industry experts, and casual revellers alike.
