The 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers for African countries resumed on Wednesday with a total of five round-three group matches.

The fixtures return after a six-month hiatus, with many teams still in control of their groups as they scramble for slots in the 2026 FIFA World Cup set to be held in the USA, Mexico, and Canada.

In Group I, the Central African Republic will host Chad at the Municipal Stadium of Oujda in Morocco, with both sides chasing for their first win.

The Brave Warriors of Namibia will host Liberia in Johannesburg in a Group H encounter, as the South African side will be targeting to consolidate its 1st position with a 3rd straight win, while Liberia will be in search of a 2nd victory.

Sierra Leone must also get to winning ways when they play host to Djibouti in a Group A fixture set to be played in Ben M’Hamed El Abdi Stadium (El Jadida) in Morocco.

After two consecutive draws in the two opening matches, Togo will be hosting South Sudan in Lome in Group B, with only a victory reviving the West African chances of playing in the World Cup 10 years after their debut in Germany.

In Rades, the Carthage Eagles of Tunisia will be in hunt of a third win when they play an already demoralized Equatorial Guinea, who were docked 6 points for fielding an ineligible player.
