Kenya survived an early scare before Neil Mugabe guided them to a nervy four-wicket victory over Rwanda as the Kenya Quad T20 Cricket Series entered day five at the Nairobi Sikh Union on Wednesday.

Mugabe’s brilliant innings of 71 off 46 balls anchored Kenya’s chase as they successfully reached 172 for six in just 17.4 overs, in response to Rwanda’s challenging total of 168 for one.

This win marked Kenya’s fifth successive victory in the four-team event and their second triumph over Rwanda in the tournament.

Rwanda, batting first after losing the toss, made an impressive start, losing only one wicket. Oscar Manishimwe continued his exceptional form, scoring yet another half-century, helping Rwanda to post what appeared to be a comfortable total on the flat pitch.

The opening pair of Manishimwe (79) and Didier Ndikubwimana (50) set a new tournament record with a partnership of 114 runs in just 13 overs, laying a solid foundation for Rwanda’s imposing score.
