Peter Kamau Muniu, Timothy Irungu Karimi, and Antony Maina Njoroge have been arrested in connection with escalating motorcycle thefts in the Ruai and Kamulu areas.

This operation was carried out by teams from the DCI Headquarters Crime Research and Intelligence Bureau (CRIB) and DCI Ruai.

The three suspects, believed to be the masterminds behind these illegal activities, were apprehended following a report of a stolen tuk-tuk.

The owner, who had parked it on Tuesday night after work, found it missing the next day.

Upon taking up the case, the officers conducted an intelligence-led operation in Kamulu.

They recovered the stolen tuktuk, registration number KTWB 975T, at the homestead of Peter Kamau Muniu, a former Kenya Navy officer.

The other two suspects were found in the process of dismantling the vehicle.

At the scene, the officers also discovered a maroon motorcycle, make Jin Cheng, registration number KMDN 972B, and a silver Nissan Wingroad, registration number KCD 143Y.

These vehicles are believed to be used in distributing the dismantled parts. Both were seized and are now detained at Ruai Police Station.

Two other known suspects managed to escape during the raid and are currently being pursued by the authorities.
