Former Sports Cabinet Secretary Rashid Echesa has attributed his woes to Kakamega Governor Fernandes Barasa whom he claims engineered his arrest after he allegedly blew the whistle on some shady dealings by the County Executive.
Echesa who staged a rally at various stopovers in Kakamega County dubbed a homecoming and thanksgiving prayer rally however says that the legal battle between him and Barasa is not yet over as he had critical evidence to present in court proving that the Governor is involved with the underworld.
The politician claims he has solid evidence to present in court proving that the County Executive engages in witchcraft.
In what is likely to shape the political contest in the County, Echesa claims it took the intervention of immediate former Governor Wycliffe Oparanya, Senator Bonny Khalwale and UDA Secretary General Cleophas Malala to save him from officers acting on the instructions of Barasa.
