Over eight million doses of childhood vaccines have arrived at Kitengela Central Vaccine store in Kajiado county.
Medical Services Principal Secretary Harry Kimtai who received the consignment at the Kenya Central Vaccine Store in Kitengela says the government used Ksh 1.25 billion to acquire the vaccines which will be adequate to address the shortage and ensure the country has enough stocks.
Kimtai said the shipment marks a significant step towards safeguarding the health of our children and ensuring a healthier future for all.
The PS said the replenished vaccines include Bacillus Calmette-Guerin (BCG), Oral Polio, Tetanus-Diphtheria, and Measles Rubella.
PS Kimtai said the vaccines will be distributed across the country over the weekend to the nine regional vaccine stores, and that all facilities will be stocked by Monday.
