The High Court has lifted conservatory orders stopping the arrest and prosecution of former Murang’a Governor Mwangi Wa Iria, his wife and six other graft suspects.

In a ruling Monday afternoon, Justice Nixon Sifuna ordered Wa Iria and the co-accused to immediately proceed to EACC Police Station at Integrity Centre for fingerprint taking and statement recording ahead of arraignment on Tuesday.

Judge Sifuna has ordered their arrest in the event of non-compliance.

The suspects who are accused of irregularly awarding tenders and other procurement irregularities totalling Ksh140M are heading to the EACC Headquarters.

Lawyer Ndegwa Njiru on April 17 obtained conservatory orders stopping the arrest of the former governor, his wife Jane Waigwe Kimani and brother-in-law Solomon Mutura Kimani.
