The national women’s rugby team,Lionesses,are one match away from securing their third consecutive Olympic ticket.Kenya is set to face Hong China in the women’s final of the Olympic repechage tournament in progress in Monaco,France at 7.01 PM.
Hong Kong China saw off Poland 41-5 in the other semi final.
To reach the final Kenya had to dig deep to narrowly edge out Czechia 12-10 in a terse semi final.
Naomi Amuguni score Kenya’s first try,sneaking past the defence to touch down a centre post try for a 7-0 lead.
Janet Okello score Kenya’s second try after being nicely set up by Judith Okumu,Czechia who endured long spells without the ball pulled back when Kristýna Riegertová touched down for a 12-5 half tine score.
Czechia eraned a scrum in the closing stages of the game racing to a try which resulted in a nervy finish and their subsequent conversion miss handed Kenya the narrow 12-10 win.
