In order to ensure parents enrol their children with special needs in school, Kinangop Dairy has enhanced its school feeding programme at the Nyandarua School for the deaf.
Through a feeding initiative that has had a significant influence on the community, the company has been providing support to deaf students at Nyandarua School for the past two years.
Increasing the number of students with special needs enrolled in schools and supplying wholesome dairy products to school-age children are the two main objectives of the feeding programme effort.
According to Shivla Mathenge, the brand assistant at Kinangop Dairy, the company is not only passionate about customers but also passionate about the community at large which has been a driving force behind supporting that particular school.
They aim to ensure these children are fed well, stay in school, and focus on their education.
The headteacher of Nyandarua School for the Deaf, Linet Gitonga, made a clarion call to parents who have children living with disabilities to be bold and not shy away from bringing their children to schools that cater for disabled children.
She assured them that the staff at the school would support these parents and attend to their children’s needs so that they would feel comfortable and at home, pointing that although her institution can hold 500 students, only 133 of them are enrolled. She also mentioned how there are enough instructors and support personnel at her school.
Mr. David Kahiga, the deputy principal of the school, agreed with her comments and urged parents to send their kids to school because the company provides enough food. Consequently, the kids’ food load is lessened.
“The children may not have heard words of love, but definitely they have felt love through the company’s actions, and we would really love to support them as much as we can,” Kinangop’s Dairy Limited Administration Manager Njeri Gachie said in a news conference.
Mr. Dishon Mburu, a teacher at the school, observed that since the project began, there has been a significant improvement in the students’ level of focus in class, with the majority of students expressing satisfaction and applauding such corporate initiatives.
