Kenyan artist, King Kanja, has released a brand new music video for “Mara Moja” – new record produced by Kissbeatz (Congo).

The newly-released song released under his label, Happy Jack Records, is a track affirming the healing power of love that King Kanja juxtaposed to the kind of effect or relief from a pain killer.

This single is off King Kanja’s next studio project which he’s been working on meticulously.

“This song has given me another opportunity to showcase my growth as an artist,” Mr Kanja says. “It blends Afrobeats and Amapiano while keeping at Swahili lyricism that portrays my pride in being a Kenyan representing my country in the US.”

The music video for “Mara Moja” was directed by Mitch Ritter (French Montana, Lil Tjay & Ice Spice).

The visuals start off with a lethargic Kanja having a conversation with a companion in a park that ends up into a euphoric day as they wander through New York City in their own bubble.

Mitch’s directorial expertise, combined with King Kanja’s creative vision, has resulted in a masterpiece that complements the energetic nature of the song.

“Mara Moja” follows King Kanja’s show-stopping performance at the WeLoveRnB Nairobi concert (May 2024) alongside his longtime friend and collaborator Bobby Valentino. He speaks fondly of the collaboration.

“It was honestly a full circle moment for me and Bobby V. We first met in Kenya in 2018 when he had a show at KICC with Keri Hilson.

“From then on we clicked and became the best of friends continuing to tour the world together,” adding, “It’s always great to perform together.”

King Kanja is, with the new song, generating anticipation for his upcoming body of work.

“We’ve dedicated months of hard work in New York to my seventh studio project which will be titled ‘Sovereign’.

“I am eager for the world to experience my most outstanding album to date, one that is poised to make history by transcending all boundaries and influencing the global music scene.”

This project will explore a diverse range of music genres, including Afrobeats, Amapiano, House, Hip-hop, R&B and Reggae.
