The Senate will convene on Wednesday for the second day of a special sitting on the impeachment hearing against Meru Governor Kawira Mwangaza.
The Meru Governor pleaded not guilty to the seven charges leveled against her by the County Assembly with her lawyers insisting that the process was riddled with vindictiveness.
On the first day of the Senate plenary hearings, Meru County Assembly through a host of witnesses implored the Senate to uphold the impeachment of Mwangaza accusing her of misuse and misappropriation of county funds, illegal appointments and usurpation of statutory powers, nepotism and related unethical practices among other charges.
