Nine CAF World Cup qualifiers to be hosted in Morocco in November

Morocco will host nine matches for the 2026 World Cup group stage qualifiers for both round 1 and round 2, slated for later this month.

In group A, Ethiopia will host Sierra Leone at the Stade El Abdi in Eljadida on November 15th,before Burkina Faso plays host to Guinea-Bissau at the Grande Stade de Marrakech on November 17th in another group A fixture.

Guinea opened their group G qualifying campaign against Uganda on November 17 at the Stade Municipal in Berkane City, before Niger hosted Tanzania a day later at the Grand Stade de in a group E encounter.

Round two matches of the group stage, which will be held in the North African country, include Chad against Madagacar at the Stade de Honeur in Oudja City in Group I on the 20th of this month, Somalia play Uganda a day later in Group G at the Municipal Stadium in Berkane, and Burkina Fasso will visit Ethiopia at the Stade El Abdi in Eljadida on November 21st in Group A.

Niger will be hosting Zambia at the Grande Stade de Marrakech on the 21st in group E, before Sao Tome hosts Namibia at the Grande Stade Agadir in group H on the same day.

This is a big morale boost for Morocco, which has been selected to stage the 2025 AFCON finals as well as the 2023 FIFA World Cup finals alongside neighbouring Spain and Portugal.
