President Ruto to deliver first State of the Nation address

President William Ruto is scheduled to deliver the State of the Nation address today (Thursday) in Parliament.

The President, according to Article 132 of the Constitution expects him to give a State of the Nation address on the progress of his administration since 2022.

The Head of State will also report the progress in realization of national values, international obligations and the status of the country’s national security at a joint Parliamentary sitting of both the National Assembly and the Senate.

Kenyans across the country want the President to address the pressing issue facing our country including; the government’s strategy to lower the high cost of living, and the thorny issue of insecurity.

The State of the Nation Address provides the President with a platform to address the issues facing the country and the steps being taken to build the Kenyan nation.

Thursday’s address will be President Ruto’s first State of the Nation Address and the second address to a joint sitting of Parliament.

The address also comes amid growing worries that the ongoing rainfall is exceeding the predicted forecast, with many regions, especially the northeastern parts of the country bearing the brunt of sustained downpours.
