Ruto to chair UDA meeting amid wrangles

President William Ruto is today expected to chair a meeting of the National Executive Council of the ruling UDA party at its headquarters in Nairobi.

This was disclosed by Senate majority leader and Kericho Senator, Aaron Cheruiyot, who also sits in the party’s National Executive Council.

The move is in a bid to resolve internal leadership wrangles in the party. This comes in the wake of the attempted ouster of the UDA Secretary General, Cleophas Malala, at the party’s headquarters along Ngong Road Wednesday.

Joe Khalende, the self-proclaimed Secretary General, was injured during the confrontation.

Aaron Cheruiyot who spoke at Kipsolu in Belgut, Kericho County, said the party is keen to ensure such chaos do not recur.
