At least 5,000 delegates from 193 UN Member States are expected to attend this year’s 6th United Nations Environment Assembly (UNEA-6) in Gigiri.

The event which kicks off Monday morning at the UN Complex will also be attended by a number of Head of States.

The five-day UNEA-6 will discuss a wide array of subjects guided by the theme, “effective, inclusive and sustainable multilateral actions to tackle climate change, biodiversity loss and pollution.”

The event will conclude with a Ministerial Declaration on the way forward.

As the world’s highest decision-making body on the environment, UNEA aims to help restore harmony between humanity and nature, improving the lives of the world’s most vulnerable people.

UNEA-6 will focus on how multilateralism can hel tackle the triple planetary crisis of climate change, nature and biodiversity loss, and pollution and waste.
