Kenyan artist manager and creative Anyiko Owoko has released conversations outlining key survival industry tactics to manoeuvre the music industry. 

In attendance at the first live recording event of her podcast, VIP ACCESS were faces of Kenyan rap including Nazizi, Sosuun and Femi One, accompanied by a powerful closing performance by Groovy Jo.

The first recording featured renowned journalist Tela Wangeci unpacking VIP ACCESS in an interview with Anyiko Owoko. 

The second recording focused on PR & Management for artists and creators in an open Q&A session facilitated by Anyiko Owoko and Nonsizi Agnes (PR Practitioner and journalist) and Olivia Ambani (PR Practitioner and artist). 

The final conversation featured Nazizi, Sossun and Femi One on the role of women in hip-hop and music. 

The live recording attracted a cross-section of Anyiko’s fans and celebrity friends including electro-pop artist producer Mutoriah,  influential Kenyan stand-up comedian Mammito, award-winning stylist Brian Babu and digital creator and artist Dr. Reign. 

Through the Live recording, the six panellists shared their experiences, notable challenges and tips for making it in the game.

The new season (4) of VIP ACCESS is supported by The Australian High Commission and is scheduled to launch Jan 30 2023. 

It will spotlight rising and established artists drawn from East Africa, South Africa and Nigeria with a focus on women creatives.

The music and culture platform was created in 2018 and is hosted by Anyiko Owoko—a Kenyan media/ PR personality and curator. She is known for her contributions to music and culture that have seen her rise to become one of Africa’s leading entertainment and music publicists.
